Chelsea 0–3 PSG (Agg: 2–8): UCL Holders Outclass CWC Champions in Ruthless Stamford Bridge Display

Chelsea FC suffered a humiliating exit from the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League after a dominant Paris Saint-Germain cruised to a 3–0 victory at Stamford Bridge, sealing an emphatic 8–2 aggregate win in their Round of 16 clash.

The reigning European champions wasted no time asserting control, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opening the scoring in just the sixth minute after capitalising on hesitant defending. Bradley Barcola doubled the advantage in the 14th minute with a superb half-volley, effectively ending the tie as a contest.

PSG continued to dominate proceedings, and 19-year-old substitute Senny Mayulu added a third goal in the 62nd minute with a composed finish, compounding Chelsea’s misery on the night.

Despite moments of attacking intent from Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernández, and João Pedro, the hosts failed to convert their chances, while remaining vulnerable to PSG’s deadly counter-attacks.

The home crowd voiced frustration throughout the encounter, with chants directed at former owner Roman Abramovich as well as the current ownership.

Head coach Liam Rosenior attempted to shift momentum with tactical changes, including introducing academy talent Josh Acheampong, but the adjustments had little impact against a clinical PSG side.

Chelsea’s night worsened late on when Trevoh Chalobah was stretchered off injured, leaving the team to finish the match with 10 men.

The result marks one of Chelsea’s heaviest defeats in European competition, as they become only the third English club to concede eight goals across a two-legged tie.

PSG now advance to the quarter-finals, where they will face the winner of the tie between Liverpool FC and Galatasaray, with the Turkish side holding a narrow first-leg advantage heading into the return fixture at Anfield.
