Real Madrid CF have confirmed the signing of Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea FC in a deal reportedly worth €55 million.
In an official statement, Real Madrid announced that an agreement had been reached with Chelsea for Cucurella to join the club on a six-year contract running until June 30, 2032.
The 27-year-old defender arrives after three seasons at Stamford Bridge, having joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion FC in 2022. Before moving to England, Cucurella progressed through the academy of FC Barcelona and also featured for Getafe CF.
Currently with the Spain national football team at the FIFA World Cup, Cucurella becomes the only Real Madrid player in coach Luis de la Fuente’s squad.
The signing is part of Real Madrid’s squad overhaul under newly appointed manager José Mourinho, who recently returned to the Santiago Bernabéu following the re-election of club president Florentino Pérez.
During his time at Chelsea, Cucurella helped the club win the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League in 2025. He departs with two years remaining on his contract after a campaign in which Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League.
