An exciting novelty football match was played on Wednesday, 4th February 2026, between staff and students of the Federal University of Gusau (FUGUS) as part of activities marking the conclusion of the impactful tenure of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muazu Abubakar.
The match, which took place at the university playground, was officially kicked off by the Vice-Chancellor, who was accompanied by members of the university management team and the organising committee.
The historic friendly encounter ended in a 2–0 victory for the staff team, providing entertainment and fostering unity within the university community as the institution celebrated the end of the Vice-Chancellor’s administration.
