Manchester City have officially announced the signing of Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo from AFC Bournemouth.
The 26-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031. Semenyo will wear the number 42 jersey for the reigning Premier League champions.
In a club statement, City described Semenyo as one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking players, highlighting his rapid rise and growing reputation as a feared forward.
Born in London to Ghanaian parents, Semenyo began his professional career at Bristol City. He gained valuable experience through loan spells at Bath City, Newport County and Sunderland before establishing himself at Ashton Gate. His impressive performances earned him a move to Bournemouth during the 2022/23 season, where his career continued on an upward trajectory.
Primarily operating from the left side of an attacking midfield trio, Semenyo became a key figure for the Cherries, combining pace, power and goal threat. He made a total of 110 appearances for Bournemouth, emerging as one of the Premier League’s most sought-after attacking wingers.
Now a Ghana international, Semenyo is set to begin a new chapter under Pep Guardiola, where he is expected to add depth, creativity and attacking flair to Manchester City’s squad.
The forward is available for immediate selection and is eligible to feature in City’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg clash against Newcastle next Tuesday.
