Niger Tornadoes produced a dominant display on Sunday, defeating Plateau United 4–0 in a week nine Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna.
The emphatic win moved Tornadoes to fourth position on the league table with 14 points from nine matches, as they continue their impressive start to the season.
Star of the day Abdulaziz Dalhatu (jersey No. 20) netted a brilliant hat-trick, scoring once in the first half and twice after the break, while Terdoov Shamagande (jersey No. 24) added a fourth goal in the second half to complete the rout.

The Technical Adviser to the Niger Tornadoes football club of Minna, Majin Mohammed, expressed satisfaction with the team’s triumph in a week nine thrilling encounter at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium in Minna.
Coach Mohammed said his team played according to instructions and didn’t make the mistakes that had been made in previous games against Plateau United of Jos.
The Tornadoes Technical Adviser commended the team’s winning spirits and hoped that it would be maintained.
Also speaking, the Technical Adviser of the Plateau United football club of Jos, Coach Shola Adigun, said that he was not too comfortable with the four goals to nil thrashing at the hands of a better side like Niger Tornadoes.
He said they will go back and see where the team went wrong and proffer solutions to all the departments of the team for better performance against subsequent matches.
Niger Tornadoes’ next game is an away trip to Kano to meet with Kano Pillars.
