Caicedo Cuts Ties with Agent, Appoints New Representation He ‘Can Trust’

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has confirmed that he has parted ways with his agent Manuel Sierra and is no longer represented by football agent Ali Barat, despite widespread speculation.

In a statement posted on his Instagram account on Monday night, the Ecuador international announced:

“Chelsea Football Club star Moises Caicedo has separated from and is no longer represented by his former football agent Manuel Sierra of Football Division Worldwide and he is not represented by Ali Barat of Epic. The contract ended on August 14, 2025 and the player has now appointed people he can trust.”

The message — which Caicedo later deleted — suggests there may have been a fallout behind the scenes.

Sierra was a key figure in negotiating Caicedo’s record-breaking move from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea in the summer of 2023, a deal that came after Liverpool had also shown strong interest.

Barat, meanwhile, represents several Chelsea-linked players, including Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson, leading to speculation that Caicedo had joined his agency — something the midfielder has now firmly denied.

Caicedo has been in impressive form this season, scoring two brilliant goals and delivering dominant performances in midfield for Enzo Maresca’s side. He remained at Cobham over the October international break as a precaution after picking up a minor issue.

“This afternoon we are going to assess Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Andrey Santos,” Maresca said before the Champions League clash against Benfica in late September. “They are all players, unfortunately for us, with some small problems. So, we will see tomorrow if they are going to be available.”

Caicedo returned to full action soon after, playing 90 minutes in Chelsea’s 1–0 win over Benfica and again in their 2–1 victory against Liverpool.

Chelsea will aim for a third straight win this weekend when they travel to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Caicedo and Pedro are expected to be available, while there are fitness concerns over Enzo Fernandez, who has returned early from international duty with Argentina.
